Description
The Gent COMPACT-LPC-EN is an additional loop card for the Vigilon Compact addressable fire alarm control panel. It adds the second loop to a Compact Plus panel, with up to 200 devices and up to 2km of cable subject to device type, loop load and layout. The first loop card fits CARD1 on the Master Control Board. The second fits CARD2, or the socket on a COMPACT-NC network card when one is fitted. For Compact Plus, use loop card software V4.49 or later with main board software V4.54 or later. The Vigilon Loop Diagnostic Tool can diagnose the loop circuits driven by this card in a Compact Plus panel.
COMPACT-LPC-EN is the loop card for Vigilon Compact panels. A Compact Plus panel is supplied with one of these cards, and another card provides its second detection loop. The first card fits CARD1 on the Master Control Board. The second card fits CARD2 when no network card is installed. If a COMPACT-NC is used, it occupies CARD2 and the second loop card fits into the socket on that network card.

In a Compact Plus application, a loop can support up to 200 devices over up to 2km of cable, subject to the device types, number of alarm devices and their distribution. Devices grouped together on one part of the circuit can change the permissible load and cable length. Use Gent's Battery Standby and Loop Load Calculator for the actual design.
For Compact Plus, use loop card software V4.49 or later and main board software V4.54 or later. Gent's VIG-LPC-EN and COMPACT-LPC-EN range supports some legacy 34000 devices, but excludes 3400 devices and the legacy 34450 four channel interface powered from the loop.
The card measures 120 x 100 x 15mm. The Gent EN loop-card range carries a SEC-GEN LOOP CARD marking and a firmware version label on the PCB. The Vigilon Loop Diagnostic Tool can diagnose loops driven by COMPACT-LPC-EN in the Compact Plus panel.

Which panel is the COMPACT-LPC-EN for?
COMPACT-LPC-EN is the loop card for Vigilon Compact panels, including the Compact Plus application. A Compact Plus panel requires loop card software V4.49 or later and main board software V4.54 or later. Check both versions when planning an addition or replacement. The separate VIG-LPC-EN belongs to the Vigilon four to six loop panel. Match the part code to the host panel as well as the devices already installed on its loop.
Can I add a second loop when a COMPACT-NC is fitted?
Yes. On a Compact Plus panel, the first loop card fits CARD1 on the Master Control Board. The second loop card normally fits CARD2. When a COMPACT-NC network card is used, fit that network card in CARD2 first, then fit the second loop card into the socket on it. This arrangement allows the panel to have two detection loops and a network connection. Without a network card, the second card connects directly to the Master Control Board.
Does every loop support 200 devices over 2km?
In a Compact Plus panel, COMPACT-LPC-EN supports up to 200 devices and up to 2km of cable, subject to device type, alarm load and layout. Permitted cable length and device count vary with the type and number of connected alarm devices, as well as their positions along the circuit. Concentrating alarm devices on one section can restrict the available capacity. Use Gent's Battery Standby and Loop Load Calculator to check the intended device mix and layout.
Can this card replace an older Compact loop card?
Check the installed devices before choosing the replacement. Gent's VIG-LPC-EN and COMPACT-LPC-EN range supports some legacy 34000 devices, but it does not support 3400 devices or the legacy 34450 four channel interface powered from the loop. COMPACT-LPC-EN is for Vigilon Compact panels; VIG-LPC-EN is for the separate four to six loop range.
