Overview

What it is and how it fits the system.

The 2020PT is a conventional multi-functional photo-thermal (optical heat) fire detector from the Vision range, combining an optical chamber and heat element with sophisticated algorithms for quick, accurate fire detection. It operates from 14 to 28VDC (nominal 24VDC) with a 60µA typical quiescent current, 75µA maximum standby current and 70mA maximum alarm current at 28VDC, across an application range of -30°C to +70°C. The 102mm-diameter head stands 40.5mm high and works at 5 to 95% RH non-condensing.

Technical overview

The 2020PT is a Conventional Vision-range optical heat detector combining photoelectric and thermal sensing elements with intelligent algorithms for reliable fire detection. It operates from 14 to 28VDC (nominal 24VDC) with a typical quiescent current of 60µA and maximum standby current of 75µA at 24VDC, 25°C, rising to 70mA alarm current at 28VDC. Designed for demanding environments, it functions across –30°C to +70°C and 5 to 95% RH non-condensing, though ambient temperature should not exceed 45°C to prevent unwanted alarms from class A1R detectors.

Measuring 102mm in diameter and 40.5mm in height (plus 9.5mm with standard base), the detector weighs 78g (plus 45g for base) and is constructed from ABS material approximating RAL9016. It supports wire gauges from 0.4mm² to 2.0mm² and is certified to EN54 Parts 5 and 7, with LPCB and CE approvals. Compatible bases include the 2020B, 2020BSD, 2020DB, and 2020DBSD, while the 2020LT laser tool enables remote testing. Optional remote LED annunciators can repeat alarm signals, and it integrates with conventional fire alarm panels via approved bases. Physical wiring details are in the installation manual.
