Description
The 2020HF is the fixed temperature member of the Vision conventional detector range, its heat element working alongside an ASIC and a static element. Its approval is Class BS to EN54 - 5:2000 (Amendment 1), LPCB and CE approval is held, and the class carries a condition: class BS detectors can be triggered into unwanted alarm conditions where ambient operating temperature runs above 65ºC, so that figure is the working ceiling, inside a wider application range of -30ºC to +70ºC.
Electrically the head sits on a 14 to 28VDC line at a maximum standby current of 75μA @ 24VDC and 70mA @ 28VDC in alarm, its terminals rated for 0.4mm2 to 2.0mm2 conductors. It is rated for 5 to 95% Relative Humidity (non-condensing). Its body is a low profile ABS moulding of 102mm diameter finished to approximate RAL9016.

A variety of detector bases suit it - the standard 2020B and deep 2020DB, plus 2020BSD and 2020DBSD carrying a Schottky diode - and the 2020LT hand held laser tool triggers the detector remotely, which does not negate the requirement to test the detector as specified in BS 5839 Pt 1:2013.
The 2020HF is a conventional fixed temperature heat detector from the Vision range, set to operate at 78ºC and using a heat element with an ASIC and a static element for quick and accurate detection of fires. Approval is Class BS under EN54 - 5:2000 (Amendment 1), the standard being EN54 Part 5, and the detector is LPCB Approved and CE Approved.
Supply is 14 to 28VDC (Nominal 24VDC). Standby draw is held to a maximum of 75μA @ 24VDC at 25ºC, rising to no more than 70mA @ 28VDC in alarm. An integral LED gives a local alarm signal, latching on until reset by a momentary power interruption; an optional remote LED annunciator may repeat that signal, and a remote alarm trigger feature is provided.
The ABS housing approximates RAL9016, measures 102mm across and stands 40.5mm high, with 9.5mm added by a standard base, and weighs 70g before the 45g of that base. It is specified for -30ºC to +70ºC in 5 to 95% Relative Humidity (non-condensing), though ambient operating temperature must be kept to 65ºC or less, since class BS detectors above that point are liable to unwanted alarm conditions.
Bases come in standard and deep forms: the 2020B adds 9.5mm to detector height and the 2020DB adds 21mm, while the 2020BSD and 2020DBSD carry a Schottky diode. Remote triggering by the 2020LT laser tool does not negate the requirement to test the detector as specified in BS 5839 Pt 1:2013.
