Overview
What it is and how it fits the system.
The 2020F is a 58°C fixed-temperature heat detector from the Vision range of conventional detectors, pairing a heat element with an application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) for quick, accurate fire detection. Its static sensing element suits locations where ambient conditions normally remain stable, operating from 14 to 28VDC (nominal 24VDC) with a 70µA maximum standby current and 70mA maximum alarm current at 28VDC. The latching alarm resets by momentary power interruption; the head measures 102mm diameter by 40.5mm high and weighs 70g.
Technical overview
2020F is a fixed temperature thermal detector designed for conventional fire alarm systems within the Conventional Detection Vision Range. It operates using a static sensing element combined with an ASIC to detect a preset temperature threshold of 58°C, triggering an alarm when ambient conditions reach this level. The device features a latching alarm function that resets only upon momentary power interruption, helping to ensure reliable signal retention until manually cleared.
It is constructed from ABS material with a colour approximating RAL9016 and has a diameter of 102mm and a height of 40.5mm, increasing to 50mm when mounted on a standard base. The detector weighs 70g, rising to 115g with the base included. It operates within a voltage range of 14 to 28VDC (nominal 24VDC), drawing a typical quiescent current of 55µA and a maximum standby current of 70µA at 24VDC and 25°C, while drawing up to 70mA at 28VDC during alarm.
The 2020F is approved to EN54 Part 5:2000 (Amendment 1) as a Class A2S heat detector and holds LPCB and CE approvals under certificate number 0832-CPD-0184. It functions in application temperatures from –30°C to +70°C and tolerates relative humidity levels between 5% and 95% non-condensing. Compatible with a range of detector bases including the 2020B standard base and 2020BSD base with Schottky diode, it supports flexible installation in conventional fire alarm configurations.
