What it is and how it fits the system.

The XCL-VEA-CO2VV-RM is a VESDA Sensepoint XCL Micro Bore aspirated carbon dioxide (CO2) gas detector that inserts in-line into a VESDA-E VEA tube network, set to 5.0% v/v and adjustable from 1.0 to 5.0% v/v. It provides Modbus RTU output plus relays, runs on 24V DC nominal and is rated IP65 (Type 4 / NEMA 250) in a 113 x 113 x 59 mm enclosure.

Technical overview

XCL-VEA-CO2VV-RM is the Xtralis VESDA Sensepoint XCL carbon dioxide detector ordered with Modbus RTU communications and relays, part of the Sensepoint XCL Micro Bore aspirated gas detection line for the VESDA-E VEA addressable aspirating smoke detection system. Carbon dioxide detection is set at 5.0% v/v, with the setting adjustable between 1.0 and 5.0% v/v.

Upkeep draws on a defined parts set: the XCL-SC-CO2VV replacement sensor and XCL-FILTER replacement filter are the listed spares, while the XCL-VEA-CAL calibration/flow cap, XCL-VEA-TUB tubing interface, XCL-M20-CG cable glands and XCL-COVER sensor cover are the recommended accessories. Field wiring lands on pluggable rising clamp terminals, and physical connection detail sits in the installation manual.

Network placement is in-line: the detector joins VEA micro bore tube of 6 mm (1/4 in) OD through flexible tubes, and VSC and VSM4 integration provides remote access to detectors. Configurable relays and interfaces to PLCs, HVAC, BMS and fire alarm control panels complete the system connections, with Bluetooth 4.0 (Bluetooth Low Energy) linking a compatible smart device running iOS 10 or Android 4.3 or above at up to 10 m (mobile device dependent).
