Overview

What it is and how it fits the system.

The XCL-VEA-CAL is the VESDA Sensepoint XCL calibration/flow cap for VEA micro bore aspirated gas detection. It inserts into the detector module and turns clockwise to lock, accepting supplied flexible tubes cut to 50mm to enable controlled calibration and flow checks.

Technical overview

XCL-VEA-CAL is the Xtralis calibration/flow cap for VEA micro bore aspirated gas detection on the VESDA Sensepoint XCL, part of the Gas Detection XCL range. The cap is specified for use with the VESDA Sensepoint XCL / VESDA-E VEA Addressable Aspirating Smoke Detection system.

Fitting takes three steps. The cap seats in the detector module with a clockwise turn, locking into position. Flexible tubing trimmed to 50mm (2 in) lengths then fits over the full length of each nozzle, and the VEA tubes seat at least 15mm into that tubing, secured with tube clips.

With tubing in place on both nozzles, the assembly enables controlled calibration and flow checks at the detector. Further physical connection and fitting detail for the cap and its tube runs is held in the installation manual.
