Within an Xtralis aspirating smoke detection sampling pipe network, restriction of flow is done in line, and VSP-870 is the part that does it - an In-line Flow Restrictor, also called the In-line Flow Restrictor Assembly.

The Refrigerated Storage Sampling Kit, specified as VSP-860 or VSP-860-US, uses this flow restrictor; inside that kit the Socket Union, item F, is made up of a Flow Restrictor and Seal.
