Vigilon Plus
Gent VS-LSIM Vigilon Plus Loop Simulator
- Programming method
- A loop’s text file is renamed to autoload.txt for programming a Loop Simulator (VS-LSIM)
- Simulation files
- Simulation text files (.txt) are created for each loop and saved to the SD card location: Simulator\
- Media
- The SD card is then fitted to a Loop Simulator PCB
- Programming constraint
- These files are used to program Loop Simulators one at a time
- Alternate file location
- If an SD card is not available then the simulation files may be saved to a location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Honeywell\Commissioning Tool\Gent\Data\Transfer\
Overview
What it is and how it fits the system.
The Gent VS-LSIM is a Loop Simulator that connects to the loops of an off-site Vigilon Plus panel and is programmed to simulate a site loop using simulation text files generated by the Commissioning tool. Each loop's .txt file is renamed to autoload.txt and loaded via an SD card fitted to the Loop Simulator PCB, programming simulators one at a time. Where an SD card is not available, the simulation files may be saved to an alternate location.
Technical overview
VS-LSIM is a Gent by Honeywell Loop Simulator designed for the Vigilon Plus range, specifically within the Vigilon Plus Simulator sub-range. It enables off-site simulation of site loops by connecting to the loops of a Vigilon Plus panel and using simulation text files generated by the Gent Commissioning tool. Each loop’s .txt file must be renamed to autoload.txt and loaded via an SD card fitted to the Loop Simulator PCB, with programming performed one simulator at a time.
If an SD card is unavailable, simulation files may be saved to an alternate location. The specified path is C:\Program Files (x86)\Honeywell\Commissioning Tool\Gent\Data\Transfer\. Programming is constrained to sequential operation, helping to ensure each simulator is configured individually using the designated file naming convention. Physical wiring and connection details are referenced in the installation manual for the unit, not within this commissioning documentation.
