Description
The Gent S4-34418 is a single channel key switch interface for plant control on Vigilon Plus, Compact Plus and Nano fire alarm systems. Its supervisory input can trigger a configured command build on channel 1, giving a key operated control point away from the panel. The interface takes its power from the loop and comes in a blue enclosure with a blue back box. Two operating keys, a separate opening tool, an earth strap and fixings are included. In the commissioning tool the S4-34418 is set up as a loop powered interface unit and is identified as a KS interface once the configuration is read back from the panel. Channel 1 is the input trigger for the command build, which is tied to the address and loop of the interface. The command build sets the plant action that follows the key operation, and a reversible action returns the plant to normal when the key is turned back.
Across the key switch unit range, installation uses loop in and loop out connections, with cable screen continuity maintained through the earth strap or the back box earth point. The assembly mounts on a back box or a standard electrical box. For semi-flush fitting, recess the electrical box into the wall before attaching the assembly. Use fire rated cable and secure the box to an even wall surface.
The key switch unit range operates at 35V to 48V and has an 88 x 88mm front, with a 32mm assembly depth or 66mm depth when surface mounted. Turning the operating key clockwise to its stop activates the switch; reversing the movement returns it to normal. Red indication flashes in the active state and green indication shows operation. On the blue S4-34418, fit the 32 x 12mm plant label behind the clear cover and leave both indicators visible.
