It is supplied as an ordering option for Xtralis OSID/OSI reflective imaging smoke beam detectors, providing on-site test and reset functionality in a surface-mount housing. The unit is constructed from white PVC and is designed for use in environments with up to 95% relative humidity, noncondensing, and a temperature range of -10°C to 60°C (14°F to 140°F).

It is compatible with the OSID-R reflective imaging smoke beam detector and the OSID smoke detection system, where it functions as a surface-mount reset switch. Related recommended components include the OSI-10 and OSI-90 imagers, for which the RTS151KIT serves as a reset station, and the RTS151KEY flush-mount variant as an alternative mounting option.
