The Morley RMK400AP is a recessed mounting kit that delivers a lower-profile installation by reducing the depth of a System Sensor sensor mounted in a standard ceiling. Suitable for drywall or suspended acoustical panel ceilings, it incorporates a special mounting bracket and may be used with standard junction boxes on flexible conduit. The RMK400AP suits white sensors (the -IV variant suits ivory).
Technical overview
RMK400AP is a Morley Addressable Devices recessed mounting kit that lets a System Sensor detector finish closer to the ceiling line than a surface fit allows. Fitted around a detector seated in the standard 102 mm base pattern, the kit sinks the head into the ceiling and takes as much as 20 mm off the projecting depth. White detectors are matched by this version; an ivory variant covers ivory-coloured devices.
Base compatibility takes in the B501AP, B501 and B401, with fixing collars chosen to suit the base in use: short collars carrying two tabs line up with the screw holes on B501 and B401 bases, while taller collars with four longer tabs serve the other hole pattern.
Recessing into drywall works as well as into suspended ceilings of acoustical panel construction, and a standard junction box fed from flexible conduit can serve the connection point, with a special mounting bracket handling the fixing. Mounting the sensor base, fixing to the junction box and completing the wiring all follow the installation instructions for the base itself.
