Description

An anti-condensation film for the OSID Emitter, OSE-ACF is a clear polycarbonate disc carrying an ABC coating, 50 mm across for the Emitter and only 0.14 mm thick, with haze held under 0.5%. Top and backing protective layers cover both faces until it goes on.

Preparation is straightforward. Wipe the Emitter down with a damp lint free cloth, peel the disc away from its backing plastic and lay it onto the front window, using your thumbs to work progressively down the window surface; the top layer then lifts off by its tab. Seated properly, the disc sits within the lip or cutout rim, and the presence of some air bubbles is not crucial to the operation of the system.

OSE-ACF is the OSID anti-condensation film for the Emitter: a clear disc of ABC coated polycarbonate that goes onto the Emitter front window. The disc is 50 mm in diameter for the Emitter and 0.14 mm thick, clear enough to hold haze below 0.5%, and it carries a top protective layer and a backing protective layer.

Fitting begins with cleaning the surface of the Emitter using a damp lint free cloth to remove any particulates or stains. The round film disc is then peeled from the backing protective plastic and applied onto the Emitter front window, thumbs sliding the film down across the window surface progressively, after which the top protective plastic is removed by its tab. Placed correctly, the disc sits perfectly inside the lip or cutout rim of the front window, and the presence of some air bubbles is not crucial to the operation of the system.

Detection distances shorten with the film in place. An OSI-10 then covers 27 m to 135 m, an OSI-90 covers 5 m to 31 m, and OSI-90 corner positions reach 24 m. Routine care is a wipe over with a damp lint free cloth.

Detection distances are reduced once the film is on. With OSE-ACF fitted, an OSI-10 runs from 27 m to 135 m (88 ft to 443 ft) and an OSI-90 from 5 m to 31 m (18 ft to 100 ft), or 11 m to 61 m (35 ft to 201 ft) on HP; OSI-90 corners reach 24 m (80 ft), and 49 m (160 ft) on HP. In service, the film surface is wiped with a damp lint free cloth to take off dirt or stains.
