F-BO-AFE70-3 is suitable for even larger and further-flung pipe systems. Its solenoid valve is rated at approx. 5,000 l/min (ANR) at 0.7MPa (7bar), and its DF build adds refrigeration area duty down to -20°C. Outer dimensions and functionality match F-BO-AFE70-2 of the same series; the built-in solenoid valve is what separates them.

The IP54 enclosure resists dust in harmful quantities and water splashed from all directions, with complete protection against contact. Connection is made to the sampling pipe, to the aspirating smoke detector and to a compressed-air supply, with filters and check valves used on the pipe connection. Actuation is indirect through the fire detection control panel as standard, or direct through the panel where units work in master-slave mode, in accordance with EN 54-13. The values specified in the project planning guidelines of the aspirating smoke detector must not be exceeded.

F-BO-AFE70-3 is an automatic purging unit of the Automatic Purging Units Series F-BO-AFE70, carrying the type name Automatic Purging Unit/5000L/DF/IP54 and working on the sampling pipe network of an aspirating smoke detector. Its solenoid valve gives a typical air flow rate of approx. 5,000 l/min (ANR) at 0.7MPa (7bar), which suits even larger and further-flung pipe systems, while the DF designation covers refrigeration area down to -20°C and allows use in environments with low temperatures.

An IP54 rating means protection against dust in harmful quantities, complete protection against contact and protection against water splashed from all directions. The purging unit does not represent an additional air resistance in the sampling pipe network and therefore does not have to be included in the calculation of that network, although the values specified in the project planning guidelines of the aspirating smoke detector must not be exceeded.

Operating conditions are shown on the status LED, and the purging program, the internal clock, the time and the device number are all set at the unit, by the user or by the installer. A Slave activation output supports master-slave working with direct actuation through the fire detection control panel, alongside the standard connection with indirect actuation through the panel, both in accordance with EN 54-13.
