- 25mm Large Check ValvePIP-024 is a 25mm large check valve, a non-return or blow out valve, in red.
- Overpressure and Debris ReliefThe valve ensures the pipe is not overpressurised and allows any debris in the pipe to be expelled.
- ABS BodyIt is produced from Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) and weighs 454g.
- Wide Operating TemperaturePIP-024 operates from -40°C to 80°C.
- Union Ends for RemovalUnion ends allow for easy removal, enabling quick refurbishment, repair or replacement without disrupting the overall pipework.
- Certified to EN 54-20The valve is tested and certified to EN 54-20 and EN 61386-1.
- ASD System CompatibilityPIP-024 is compatible with VESDA and FAAST FLEX ASD systems.
- Fitted at Pipe EndThe valve should always be located at the end of the pipe, fitted so the directional arrow points away from the pipe network.
Description
This is the red version of the large check valve, red identifying its service as fire. An aspirating smoke detection (ASD) system requires a well-designed, high-quality pipework network, and the check valve is installed at the far end of the pipe run; PIP-024 is compatible with VESDA and FAAST FLEX ASD systems.
Union ends allow for easy removal, enabling quick refurbishment, repair or replacement without disrupting the overall pipework, and the valve can be dismantled to aid cleaning. It is easy to joint using ABS solvent cement. During installation it is important that the valve is fitted so the directional arrow points away from the pipe network, and it should always be located at the end of the pipe.

PIP-024 is a 25mm large check valve, a red non-return or blow out valve for an aspirating smoke detection pipe run. It serves two purposes: to ensure the pipe is not overpressurised, and to allow any debris in the pipe to be expelled.
The valve is produced from Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (ABS) and weighs 454g, with a 25mm ID, and it operates from -40°C to 80°C.
The newton strength of the spring has been tested for pressure response using a 3m pipe with 3mm holes. Under 0.5 bar of pressure the spring begins to move slightly, allowing small amounts of air to escape, and as the pressure increases to between 2 and 3 bar the spring fully opens, enabling the release of any built-up contamination. PIP-024 is tested and certified to EN 54-20 and EN 61386-1, and is produced under a stringent quality control system approved to BS EN ISO 9001.
