The Xtralis F-BO-AFE70-2 is a FAAST Automatic Purging Unit (Low Flow), a fully integrated, compact purging unit for Aspiration Smoke Detection (ASD) systems. A built-in solenoid valve releases compressed air into the pipe network using user-selectable preventative or event-triggered purging programs. Rated IP54 and powered from 21.6-30 VDC, it draws 8mA in normal condition and 300mA when the valve is energised, in a 204 x 160 x 68mm grey-white (RAL 9002) housing weighing approximately 3.2kg.
Technical overview
The F-BO-AFE70-2 is an Xtralis FAAST Automatic Purging Unit (Low Flow) designed for Aspiration Smoke Detection (ASD) systems. This fully integrated, compact unit features a built-in solenoid valve that releases compressed air into the pipe network using user-selectable preventative or event-triggered purging programs. It is rated IP54 for dust and splash protection and operates on a 21.6–30 VDC supply, drawing 8mA in normal condition and 300mA when the solenoid valve is energised at 24V.
The unit is housed in a grey-white (RAL 9002) enclosure measuring 204 x 160 x 68mm and weighing approximately 3.2kg. It operates within an ambient temperature range of +5°C to +50°C and tolerates up to 95% relative humidity at 40°C. Air supply performance is rated at 3500 litres per minute, with the solenoid valve delivering typical flow rates of 1,300 l/min at 0.2MPa, increasing to 3,700 l/min at the maximum permissible overpressure of 0.7MPa (7.0bar). A recommended minimum supply pressure of 0.2MPa (2.0bar) helps ensure reliable operation. The F-BO-AFE70-2 supersedes the VSP-820 model and is compatible with the 25mm Over Pressure Check Valve (SKU: PIP-024) for system integration.
