Description
Purging the sampling pipework with compressed air is the whole purpose of F-BO-AFE70-2, the FAAST Purging System AFE70-2 (Low Flow). It works in Honeywell ASD systems and with VESDA, ICAM and FAAST aspiration smoke detection systems, drawing on a compressed-air supply.
Six purging programs, preventive or event-triggered, cover short and long purging cycles; they run from the internal clock, an external clock timer, an external push-button, or automatically when the ASD system reports a fault, activating through FACP only. Several systems can be coupled in Master-Slave mode, and the unit is a fully integrated and compact system designed for larger pipe networks.

Electrically the unit takes 21.6 - 30 VDC at 8mA (normal condition), rising to 300mA while the solenoid valve is energised. Compressed air should be at least 0.2MPa (2.0bar) and never above 0.7MPa (7.0bar), the solenoid valve passing typically 2,300 l/min at 0.4MPa and 3,200 l/min at 0.6MPa. The grey white RAL 9002 housing, 204 mm by 160 mm by 68 mm and 3.2kg (approx.), works from +5°C to +50°C.

Six user selectable preventive or event-triggered purging programs are offered, with short or long purging cycle options. A cycle can start automatically on a fault message from the ASD system (activating through FACP only), on the internal clock or an external clock timer, or by hand from an external push-button. Several systems can be coupled in Master-Slave mode, a multicoloured LED indicates the system condition, and commissioning is carried out without software tools.
