Overview
What it is and how it fits the system.
The Morley DRM-1 is a BS7273-4 door release module designed to work with the existing output module and wider fire system to meet section 5 requirements for Category A installations. It is also available as a standalone module for retrofit applications. Drawing power from the door input supply, it operates on 15 to 30VDC and includes an auxiliary relay rated 1A continuous at up to 30V AC or DC.
Technical overview
DRM-1 is a Morley Addressable Devices door release module in the Addressable Interface modules range and Door Module sub-range. It is designed to meet BS7273-4 section 5 requirements for Category A installations, working in conjunction with the existing output module and wider fire system, and can also serve as a standalone module for retrofit applications. The module operates on 15 to 30VDC peak, drawing power from the door input supply, and includes an auxiliary relay rated for 1 Amp continuous at up to 30V AC or DC.
A volt free contact switches mains through a third party relay, separating the fire system from direct mains connection, and the module is compatible with 12-24VDC door hold systems. It also provides dual time-delay settings compliant with BS7273-4 and an additional failsafe mechanism required by the section 5 code of practice. The required cable loom is supplied to integrate the device into the wider system.
The DRM-1 forms part of both the Morley-IAS Door Release System (MI-DRS-1) and the Notifier Door Release System (NFX-DRS-1). Modules must be housed in an enclosure: the unit can be mounted on a DIN rail using the M200E-DIN clip or installed in the SMB6-V0 surface mount box, which holds up to six modules.
