Description

The Morley DNRE Air Duct Smoke Detector uses photoelectric technology to sample air passing through a duct, enabling early detection of a developing hazardous condition. It features a plug-in head, front and rear sampling tube installation, a sensor cover tamper feature for trouble signalling, and a remote alarm output for auxiliary devices. The detector addresses per code switches on the sensor head and operates from -20C to 60C.

The Morley DNRE Air Duct Smoke Detector is an addressable duct-mounted photoelectric smoke detector designed for early detection of developing hazardous conditions in ventilation systems. It samples air passing through the duct via front and rear sampling tubes and uses a plug-in sensor head for straightforward maintenance. A cover tamper feature guards against removal or improper fitting of the sensor cover, and a remote alarm output supports auxiliary devices alongside remote test capability.

Operating from −20°C to 60°C with storage down to −30°C and humidity tolerance of 0% to 93% non-condensing, the DNRE provides local status indication via two LEDs controlled by the system panel, which can blink, latch on, or latch off based on coded signals. Addressing is set using code switches on the sensor head. The detector requires both electrical power and an operating ventilation system to sense smoke, and will not do so without these conditions present. Mounting options include side-by-side rectangular or stacked square configurations secured with the provided sheet metal screws. Compatible accessories include RA400Z/RA100Z remote LED annunciators and RTS-series test stations, while sampling tubes (DST1, DST3, DST5, DST10) are ordered separately according to duct width. Field wiring details are given in the installation manual.

Specifications

Detection technologyphotoelectric technology for the detection of smoke
Operating temperature-20° to 60° C
Storage temperature-30° to 60° C
Humidity0% to 93% Relative Humidity Non-condensing
IndicatorsWhen programmed with the system control panel, two LEDs on each duct smoke detector light to provide local visible indication
Led operationTwo LEDs on the sensor are controlled by the panel to indicate sensor status. Coded signals, transmitted from the panel, can cause the LEDs to blink, latch on, or latch off.
AddressingAble to address detector per code switches on sensor head
Tamper featureIncorporates a sensor cover tamper feature that provides a trouble signal at the panel immediately if the cover is removed or improperly installed. Proper installation of the sensor cover removes the trouble condition.
Remote alarm outputProvides a remote alarm output for use with auxiliary devices, as well as remote test capability
Detector feature setUtilizes plug-in head; Sampling tubes install from front and rear; Compatible with existing accessories
Mounting configurationsSide-by-side "rectangular" configuration or top-over-bottom "square" configuration; uses two (rectangular) or three (square) of the provided sheet metal screws
Operating requirementThis device will not sense smoke unless the ventilation system is operating and the cover is installed; will not operate without electrical power
Test coil current drawTEST COIL OPTION 1 PER UNIT 95mA CURRENT DRAW
