What it is and how it fits the system.
The Morley B524IEFT-1 is an analogue addressable detector base with an integral isolator for use with System Sensor addressable detectors. On detecting a short circuit it isolates the affected loop segment, preventing an entire communications loop from being disabled. It operates from 15 to 28.5 Vdc, draws under 100 uA standby at 24 Vdc, and measures 102 x 26 mm (dia x H) with a wide -30 C to 70 C operating range.
Technical overview
B524IEFT-1 is a Morley analogue addressable detector base with an integral short-circuit isolator, designed for use with System Sensor 200 and 500 series analogue addressable detectors. On a cable short-circuit the base completely isolates the faulted section between isolators, the sensor continues to operate, and the loop restores automatically once the short-circuit is corrected; isolation acts on the loop positive (+ve) side and a remote LED connection is provided.
Loop design is governed by the device count permitted between two isolators: up to 60 200 Series detectors in B501AUS or B501AP bases, 40 M200 modules (except CZ), 40 7251 Pinnacle, 15 6500 beam detectors, 10 M210E-CZ conventional zone modules, six multi-modules, four MCP5A manual call points, or three sensors in B524RTE relay bases.
The base operates from 15 Vdc to 28.5 Vdc with standby current below 100 µA at 24 Vdc, across -30 °C to 70 °C and 0 to 95 % RH non-condensing. Conformity is declared to EN 54-17: 2005, and the mounting holes suit installation boxes with either 2" or 60 mm hole spacing; a tamper resist tab prevents removal from the base without a tool once activated.
