What it is and how it fits the system.
The 721-001-140 is a Gent ZX5SE multi-protocol intelligent fire alarm control panel supporting 1 to 5 loops at a maximum of 460 mA per loop, with 140 zone LED indication. It runs from 230 V 50 Hz AC, accepts up to 2 x 24 Ah / 12 V standby batteries and provides an 8.6 A total PSU rating. The painted sheet steel enclosure is sealed to IP30, measures 500 x 500 x 195 mm and weighs 20 kg without batteries.
Technical overview
721-001-140 pairs the Morley Addressable Panels ZX5SE intelligent fire alarm panel with zone-by-zone LED indication across 140 zones. Multi-protocol operation spans a choice of detection device protocols, the platform integrates with VA/PA and other systems, and the loops run between one and five with up to 460mA available on each. For standards, the panel is Design to EN54 Parts 2 & 4.
Networking scales the system out to as many as 99 panels on a single network, opening a route to large multi-panel systems. Battery backup is sized for up to two 24Ah/12V units. The 795-077-020 and 795-077-060 zone LED expansion cards take a ZX5Se panel's LED indication to 40 and 80 zones respectively.
Within the family, 721-001-301 covers the standard ZX5Se 1-5 loop panel, running on 230Vac with four sounder circuits, a 4 line display and networking capability. The 721-002-301 build is specified as the 721-001-301 but dressed in a stainless steel door and bezel. On the service side, the 796-162 five loop base PCB fits ZX5e and ZX5Se panels, the 796-178 spare PSU covers ZX5Se panels built after January 2010, and physical connection and wiring details appear in the installation manual.
