Overview

What it is and how it fits the system.

The XCL-VEA-CO2PP-RM is a VESDA Sensepoint XCL aspirated carbon dioxide (CO2) gas detector that inserts in-line into a VESDA-E VEA micro bore tube network, with a 5000ppm range. It offers Modbus RTU output plus relays, operates from -20 to +50°C and is housed in an IP65-rated 113 x 113 x 59 mm polycarbonate enclosure.

Technical overview

XCL-VEA-CO2PP-RM is an Xtralis VESDA Sensepoint XCL aspirated gas detector that reports carbon dioxide over Modbus RTU from within a VESDA-E VEA microbore tube network, pairing a 5000 ppm CO2 sensor with relay signalling.

Digital communication suits sites running VSC or VSM4 for remote detector access, while configurable relays give hard-wired paths into PLCs, HVAC, building management systems and fire alarm control panels. Set-up and adjustment take place over Bluetooth from an iOS or Android device up to 10 m away, mobile device dependent, and integral LEDs indicate alarm status at the housing.

Installation follows the in-line pattern, the detector joining new or existing VESDA-E VEA systems through flexible tube connections to the 6 mm micro bore tubing. The XCL-SC-CO2PP cartridge is the matching replacement sensor, XCL-VEA-TUB covers the tubing interface, and XCL-FILTER, XCL-M20-CG and XCL-COVER address filters, cable glands and the sensor cover respectively. Radio approvals list RED, FCC, BT SIG, EMC compliance cites CE - EMC and EN 50270, and physical and terminal wiring appears in the installation manual.
