Description

Where a VEA microbore tube network needs carbon dioxide monitoring reported over a digital link, XCL-VEA-CO2PP-RM is the module for it. The calibration/flow cap turns clockwise into the detector until it locks, VEA tubes push at least 15mm (0.6 in) into the flexible tubes.

Beyond the relays, VSC and VSM4 integration gives remote access to the operating status of Modbus version detectors, while the outputs also feed PLCs, HVAC, BMS or FACP. A Bluetooth connection reaches up to 10m from the module (mobile device dependent) on a compatible smart device.

The 113 x 113 x 59 mm polycarbonate (charcoal colour) case weighs 500 g and is sealed to IP65, Type 4 (NEMA 250). Operation spans −20 °C to +50 °C within 95 to 110 kPa and storage sits at 0 °C to +30 °C. Operating outside the 0 to 99% (non-condensing) humidity range may result in increased drift and a reduction in detector accuracy. Standards carried are EN/UL/IEC61010-1 conformity, CSA-C22.2 No. 61010-1-12 certification, CE - EMC EN 50270 and the RADIO set of RED, FCC and BT SIG. Service parts run to XCL-SC-CO2PP for the sensor, plus XCL-FILTER, XCL-VEA-CAL, XCL-M20-CG, XCL-VEA-TUB and XCL-COVER.

XCL-VEA-CO2PP-RM is a factory calibrated carbon dioxide detector module that inserts in-line to the VESDA-E VEA microbore tube network through flexible tubes. Sensing covers 5000ppm with an adjustable 1000 - 5000ppm span.

Communications are digital. A Modbus RTU output over RS 485 reports the reading, and two configurable relays give hard contacts of 5 A at 24 V DC and 240 V AC. The Modbus supply branch is 9 to 32V DC against a 24 VDC nominal rail, or from 24V AC 50/60Hz between 20 and 27 VAC, with maximum inrush current of 850 mA at 24V DC and consumption of 1.2W on Modbus for a carbon dioxide head, plus 0.6W total for the relay version.

Terminals are pluggable rising clamp style, taking 20 to 16 AWG conductors. Integral alarm status LEDs mark the detector state locally, and Bluetooth 4.0 (Bluetooth Low Energy) is built in. Operating the module outside its 0 to 99% (non-condensing) humidity band may result in increased drift and a reduction in detector accuracy.
