What it is and how it fits the system.
The XCL-VEA-CO2PP-RA is a VESDA Sensepoint XCL aspirated carbon dioxide (CO2) gas detector that inserts in-line into a VESDA-E VEA micro bore tube network, with a 5000ppm range. It provides 0 to 22 mA analogue output plus two relays, runs on 24V DC nominal and is rated IP65 (Type 4 / NEMA 250) in a 113 x 113 x 59 mm polycarbonate housing.
Technical overview
XCL-VEA-CO2PP-RA measures carbon dioxide at parts-per-million level on VESDA-E VEA microbore tube networks, an Xtralis aspirated gas detector in the VESDA Sensepoint XCL family with a 5000 ppm range, 4-20 mA analogue signalling and relay outputs. That range is adjustable from 1000 ppm, and the sensing element has a dedicated spare in the XCL-SC-CO2PP replacement sensor at the matching 5000 ppm rating.
Tube work at the detector is closely specified: flexible tube sections cut to 50 mm make the connections, VEA tubes seat at least 15 mm into those sections, and tube clips hold the joints to the 6 mm outside-diameter network. Detectors can be brought into VESDA-E VEA installations new or existing.
On the building side, the analogue output and two relays connect fire alarm control panels, PLCs, HVAC and building management systems, with VSC and VSM4 integration also available, and Bluetooth Low Energy connects a compatible smart device up to 10 m away (mobile device dependent). Approvals span conformity to EN/UL/IEC61010-1, certification to CSA-C22.2 No. 61010-1-12, EN 50270 for EMC and RED, FCC, BT SIG for radio; the XCL-VEA-CAL Calibration/Flow Cap for VEA pairs with the detector, and terminal wiring is detailed in the installation manual.
