What it is and how it fits the system.
The XCL-VEA-CO-RA is a VESDA Sensepoint XCL aspirated carbon monoxide (CO) gas detector that inserts in-line into a VESDA-E VEA micro bore tube network, set to 300ppm and adjustable from 50 to 1000ppm. It delivers 0 to 22 mA analogue output plus two relays (24 V DC / 250 V AC, 5 A) and runs on 24V DC nominal.
Technical overview
XCL-VEA-CO-RA monitors carbon monoxide on VESDA-E VEA microbore tube networks as an Xtralis addressable aspirated gas detector from the VESDA Sensepoint XCL range, signalling over a 4-20 mA loop with relay outputs. The measuring point is set to 300 ppm as standard and can be adjusted between 50 ppm and 1000 ppm.
The CO sensing cartridge is a cross-platform part: XCL-XRL-SC-CO serves both the XCL and XRL detector lines at the 300 ppm rating. Configuration happens over Bluetooth Low Energy from a compatible smart device up to 10 m away, alarm status shows on integral LEDs, and the relay pair alongside the analogue signal connects fire alarm control panels, PLCs, HVAC and building management systems, with VSC and VSM4 integration for remote access over Modbus.
Where a project calls for several detectors, XCL-VEA-CO-RA-5 covers the same unit as a five-piece multipack. Accessory support spans the XCL-VEA-CAL calibration and flow cap, XCL-VEA-TUB tubing interface, XCL-FILTER filters, XCL-M20-CG cable glands and XCL-COVER sensor cover with gasket. UL2075 (CO and CH4) and AS 1668.2 appear among the approvals with EN 50270 for EMC, and physical wiring is handled terminal by terminal in the installation manual.
