The VHX-1300 is a wall-mounted VESDA Open Protocol High Level Interface operating in peer-to-peer mode, where the host polls the HLI for information about devices on the network. It links a VESDAnet network to PC monitoring software, Building Management Systems and Fire Alarm Control Panels. The unit runs on 24 VDC at 70 mA quiescent (1.68 W) and weighs 2 kg.
Technical overview
The VHX-1300 is a VESDA Wall-Mounted Open Protocol High Level Interface operating in peer-to-peer mode, where the host polls the HLI for information about devices on the network while the HLI sends unsolicited messages back. It links a VESDAnet network to PC monitoring software, Building Management Systems and Fire Alarm Control Panels, which together act as the host.
VESDAnet is a proprietary fault-tolerant bi-directional communications protocol that connects VESDA smoke detectors, displays, programmers and remote units. Through its built-in VESDAnet interface, the unit supports up to 40 detectors and can report on detector types VLC, VLS, VLP and VLF. HLIs of this kind are recommended for secondary monitoring of fire alarms and other notifications from the network, and are also suitable for primary reporting to the fire panel.
The interface is easily configured using Xtralis configuring and monitoring software, and modem support is not available. It runs on 24 VDC at 70 mA quiescent (1.68 W) and weighs 2 kg.
