Description
TL-2055 is a hand-held test source that will ONLY activate Honeywell Analytics FS24X and FS18X Detectors and will NOT activate other manufacturers’ IR flame detectors, and it will not calibrate or change the configuration of the Detectors in test. Its gold-plated infrared reflector lamp generates modulated radiant spectral energy in a broad band of IR wavelengths, causing the Detector to ALARM; the operator depresses the momentary pushbutton switch and holds the lamp approximately 2 to 30 feet (0.6 to 9.1 meters) directly in front of the Detector for about 3-6 seconds, or until the Detector goes into ALARM.
The unit is compact, weighs 4 pounds (approx.) and measures 4.81 in. diameter x 4.40 in. high. Both the IR gold-plated reflector lamp and the nickel-metal hydride battery pack are user replaceable plug-in parts, and a red LED on the face of the Test Lamp turns on while the wall charger is connected. Securing a cylindrical tube around the front lid reduces the radiated field-of-view. The battery pack must not be charged in a hazardous area, and the enclosure should be wiped only with a damp cloth because of the potential electrostatic charge. The TL-2055 is a portable, explosion-proof WideBand™ IR Test Lamp - a battery-powered hand-held test source for checking Honeywell Analytics Model FS24X and FS18X Multi-Spectrum Fire Detectors end-to-end. It will only activate FS24X and FS18X Detectors and will not activate other manufacturers’ IR flame detectors, and it neither calibrates nor changes the configuration of the Detector under test.
The lamp is FM Approved Explosion-Proof, with hazardous-area coverage running to Class I, Div. 1 & 2, Groups B, C, D; Class II, Div. 1 & 2, Groups E, F, & G; and Class III. Its copper-free aluminium housing (less than 0.4%) has a powder coated paint finish, is sealed to IP66 and rated NEMA 3, 4 Weather-proof, Tamper-Resistant, and works from -30° to +85° C, (-22° to +185° F).
An internal 12 VDC rechargeable nickel hydride battery pack supplies the source; allow 3 to 4 hours for complete charging, after which a fully charged pack should test typically up to 20 Detectors. Only the Honeywell Analytics AC/DC wall converter, part number PSU-15, supplying regulated 15 VDC at 1.33 amp, may be used to recharge it.
Charging calls for the housing window lens cover to be taken off the Test Lamp, and that procedure must be done in a non-hazardous area. Do not open the unit when a flammable atmosphere is present, and avoid looking directly into the Test Lamp when it is operating. Potential electrostatic charge is possible; wipe the enclosure only with a damp cloth.
