Description

The Gent S4T-DEMO is a self-test demonstration kit for the S-Quad T range. It includes an S4T-711 dual optical heat detector, a programmer base and a metal stand. The rig uses an external power supply and connects to a PC by USB. STM demonstrator software runs the optical and heat self-tests through a browser screen. Select either test or run both together, view separate results for the two channels and follow the live detector readings on a graph. The graph plots forward scatter, backward scatter and heat, with play, pause and reset controls. The screen also includes an anti-mask test option.

The S4T-DEMO brings together an S4T-711 dual optical heat self-test detector, an S4T programmer base and a metal stand. The programmer attaches to the stand with screws, and the detector fits onto the base. Connect the power and data lead at the rear of the programmer, plug in the supply and connect the data lead to a PC USB port.

Start the STM demonstrator software on the PC before opening the browser interface at http://localhost:8000/. After acknowledging the opening disclaimer, use Configuration to select the USB COM port for the connected lead. Return to Overview and press Play to display the detector readings.

The controls offer optical, heat and combined heat-and-optical tests. Separate result tiles show completion of the functional heat and optical tests. The graph displays forward-scatter, backward-scatter and heat readings, with play, pause and reset controls.

An anti-mask test option is available in the demonstration screen. The display also shows the duration at the fire threshold and the time taken to clear after a test.

FAQs

What is supplied in the S4T-DEMO kit?

The S4T-DEMO includes an S4T-711 dual optical heat self-test detector, an S4T programmer base and a metal stand. The programmer attaches to the stand with screws, and the detector fits onto the base. Connect the power and data cable at the rear of the programmer, connect the data lead to a PC USB port and plug in the power supply. The PC runs STM demonstrator software, which provides the browser controls for the optical and heat tests.

What does the S4T-DEMO demonstrate?

The S4T-DEMO demonstrates the optical and heat self-test functions of the S-Quad T range using its supplied detector and programmer base. The interface offers optical, heat and combined heat-and-optical test selections. Separate result tiles show completion of the functional tests for the two channels. A graph displays forward-scatter, backward-scatter and heat readings as the demonstration runs. The screen also provides an anti-mask test option and graph controls, so the display can be played, paused or reset during the demonstration.

How do I connect the S4T-DEMO to a PC?

Fix the programmer to the metal stand with screws and fit the detector to the base. Connect the power and data cable at the back of the programmer. Plug in the power supply and connect the data lead to a spare PC USB port. Start the STM demonstrator software, then open its browser interface. In Configuration, select the USB COM port used by the data lead, submit that selection and return to Overview to start the readings.

How do I start the S4T-DEMO software?

Run the STM demonstrator on the PC first; it operates in the background while the browser interface is used. Open http://localhost:8000/ in the browser and acknowledge the opening disclaimer. Use the menu to reach Configuration, select the USB COM port used by the rig and submit the selection. Return to Overview and press Play to display the detector readings. The main screen then provides the optical, heat and combined test choices, with separate functional results for the heat and optical channels.

Which readings can I see on the S4T-DEMO screen?

The main graph shows forward-scatter, backward-scatter and heat readings from the detector. Separate tiles show the functional heat and optical test results, while other indicators show the time at the fire threshold and the time taken to clear after a test. There is also an anti-mask test option. The screen provides optical, heat and combined test selections, plus play, pause and reset controls for the graph. These controls let you follow the selected demonstration and its results on the PC.
