Description
Metal filter screens are the consumable element of an addressable FAAST FLEX aspirating smoke detector: two of them stop dirt and debris reaching the Sensors, while a third guards the air outlet. FLX-SP-02 renews them and is ordered as a pack of 6.
Annual replacement is the interval for proper operation, and that interval shortens in harsh operating environments where excessive dust, insects or exposure to chemicals are present. Grease water calls for cleaning with compressed air; soap will degrease a screen, or the screens can simply be exchanged for new ones.

The work sits behind the Sensor Cover, whose six locking tabs come free under a small screwdriver, and the Outlet Filter turns through 90° to release. Sensors must be protected while the screens are out. FLX-SP-02 sits among the field-replaceable parts of these detectors, with the FLX-SP-01NG sensing module and the FLX-SP-04 aspirator.

Getting to the screens means using a small screwdriver to release six locking tabs and taking off the Sensor Cover, with the outlet filter freed by rotating it 90°. During maintenance the sensors should be protected whenever the filters are removed. Afterwards the Aspirator Cover and the Sensor Cover are pressed down to engage their locking tabs and the main cover is replaced.
