The Xtralis F-PC-HE-4 is a Harsh Environment VESDA/FAAST sampling hole clip from Honeywell's colour-coded CLIP Hole Identification System, with a pre-engineered 4.0mm (5/32) sampling hole. Moulded in PC/ABS with a RAL9005 body and a variable-material TPE seal, it locates on tube of 25mm to 27mm outer diameter. At 55mm by 30.5mm and 11g, it delivers consistent sampling-point sizing across aspirating smoke detection networks.
Technical overview
F-PC-HE-4, an Xtralis Harsh Environment clip belonging to the Honeywell CLIP Hole Identification System (documented as the FAAST Sampling Hole Identification System), standardises a 4.0mm (5/32) sampling hole size across VESDA aspirating smoke detection pipe networks.
Fitting involves no tools and nothing to assemble. Sampling holes across the network are produced with a 10mm (27/64") drill bit, and the one-piece clip then clicks straight into a firm, non-slip hold on ASD pipe of 25 mm to 27 mm outer diameter. The flexi-lip design that defines the Harsh Environment variants helps to reduce sampling hole leakage.
Colour coding follows the IEC 60062 standard resistor code, so the 4.0mm size can be picked out on the finished run. Beyond this, physical fitting detail lives in the installation instructions, which should be consulted to ensure full functionality.
