What it is and how it fits the system.

The F-PC-3 is a standard-variant ASD sampling point CLIP with a pre-engineered 3.0mm (1/8 inch) sampling hole for use in Aspirating Smoke Detection pipe networks. Moulded in RAL9005 PC/ABS, it fits tube outer diameters of 25mm to 27mm. It measures 55 x 30.5mm and weighs 11g.

Technical overview

F-PC-3 brings a pre-engineered 3.0mm (1/8 inch) sampling hole to aspirating smoke detection pipework, as a Standard-variant sampling point CLIP used in VESDA sampling hole pipe networks.

The IEC 60062 standard resistor code governs the clip colour scheme, tying each colour to a hole size. PC/ABS forms the RAL9005 body, matched with a variable-material TPE rubber.

Preparation calls for a 10mm (27/64") drill bit to create all sampling holes; the one-piece clip then needs no assembly or tools and clicks into place on ASD pipe of 25 mm to 27 mm tube outer diameter, with physical fitment detail held in the installation instructions. The application band runs from -30 °C to +45 °C at 5% to 95% relative humidity and pipe network pressure to 7 bar; past 45 °C ambient, leakage of as much as 5% can develop at the clip seal.
