Overview
What it is and how it fits the system.
The Xtralis F-PC-2 is a standard-variant ASD (Aspirating Smoke Detection) sampling point clip with a pre-engineered 2.0mm (5/64 inch) sampling hole, part of the Honeywell/FAAST/VESDA CLIP Hole Identification System. Moulded in RAL9005 PC/ABS, it fits tube outer diameters of 25mm to 27mm. It measures 55 x 30.5mm and weighs 11g.
Technical overview
F-PC-2 is the 2.0mm (5/64 inch) entry in the Standard format of the CLIP Hole Identification System, an Xtralis sampling point clip for VESDA and FAAST Aspirating Smoke Detection (ASD) pipework. The wider identification system spans Standard and Harsh Environment formats.
On site, 10mm drill holes are created for every sampling point; the clip then clicks straight over the hole and holds a firm, non-slip position, with no tools or part assembly needed thanks to the installation-ready, one-piece design. A chamfered entry at the sampling hole reduces dust loading effects, which helps keep uptime high and can stretch the interval between tests.
Hole sizes read from the clip colour, which is keyed to the IEC 60062 standard resistor code. The RAL9005 PC/ABS body pairs with a variable-material TPE rubber and grips tube with an outside diameter between 25 mm and 27 mm. Stated application conditions run from -30 °C to +45 °C at 5% to 95% relative humidity, with pressure in the pipe network permitted to 7 bar.
