Description

The Morley-IAS DXC-UPGR-CLSS is a hardware bundle for linking an existing Morley DXc fire alarm control panel installation to CLSS. It includes a gateway, GSM module and RS-232 card. The panel connects to the gateway through its serial interface, while the gateway carries panel data onward to the CLSS cloud. On a DXc network, the gateway connects at the master panel. The DXc connection needs gateway firmware 3.0.2.30 or later and a 24V DC power arrangement using a dedicated external supply or the panel’s non-resettable supply. Initial setup associates the gateway with the CLSS account and imports the panel inventory.

DXC-UPGR-CLSS is the Morley DXc upgrade bundle for an existing installation. It includes a gateway, GSM module and RS-232 card. Within the CLSS system, the gateway carries the panel information to the cloud for remote monitoring and maintenance activities.

DXC-UPGR-CLSS is the Morley DXc upgrade bundle for an existing installation. It includes a gateway, GSM module and RS-232 card. Within the CLSS system, the gateway carries the panel information to the cloud for remote monitoring and maintenance activities.

The DXc panel connects to the CLSS gateway by RS-232 through a 795-122 serial communication card. Gateway firmware 3.0.2.30 or later is required for the DXc connection. In a network of DXc panels, connect the gateway to the master panel.

At the DXc panel’s SK1 terminal, connect the white wire to RxD+, green to Gnd and brown to TxD+. The serial link carries data between the panel and the gateway. The gateway’s cloud connection provides the next part of the route into CLSS.

The gateway power arrangement can use a dedicated external 24V DC supply or the panel’s non-resettable internal supply. Initial commissioning associates the gateway with a CLSS account, uploads the panel topology and configures the panel connection.

FAQs

What comes in DXC-UPGR-CLSS?

DXC-UPGR-CLSS includes a gateway, GSM module and RS-232 card for an existing Morley DXc installation. The panel’s serial interface carries information to the gateway, and the gateway provides the route onward into CLSS. The GSM module supplies the cellular part of this hardware arrangement. The DXc connection needs gateway firmware 3.0.2.30 or later. Commissioning includes the panel connection, a suitable gateway power arrangement and the association between the gateway, the panel inventory and the CLSS account.

Which panel interface does the DXc bundle use?

The Morley DXc connection uses RS-232 through a 795-122 serial communication card on the panel. The gateway needs firmware 3.0.2.30 or later for this connection. At the panel’s SK1 terminal, the white wire connects to RxD+, the green wire to Gnd and the brown wire to TxD+. This serial connection carries the panel data to the gateway. The gateway then provides the separate onward connection that brings the fire alarm system’s information into the CLSS cloud.

Where does the gateway connect on a DXc network?

On a network of Morley DXc panels, connect the gateway at the master panel. The connection uses the DXc RS-232 serial interface, with gateway firmware 3.0.2.30 or later. The gateway sits between that panel connection and the CLSS cloud connection. Initial setup associates the gateway with the CLSS account and brings in the panel topology. This establishes the panel information used by the CLSS system for remote monitoring and maintenance activities once the installation has been commissioned.

How is the gateway powered with a DXc panel?

The DXc installation can power the gateway from a dedicated external 24V DC supply or the panel’s non-resettable internal supply. The external supply must serve the gateway without sharing its output with other devices. Power provision is part of the installation alongside the panel’s RS-232 connection and the gateway’s cloud connection. DXC-UPGR-CLSS brings together the gateway, GSM module and RS-232 card for the existing DXc system, with commissioning linking the panel inventory and gateway to the CLSS account.

How does DXC-UPGR-CLSS differ from the Vigilon bundle?

DXC-UPGR-CLSS is for an existing Morley DXc installation and includes a gateway, GSM module and RS-232 card. VIG-UPGR-CLSS is for an existing Gent Vigilon installation and includes a gateway, GSM module, I/O card, PSU and batteries. The two bundles use the interfaces appropriate to their respective panels. DXc uses its serial communication card, while the Vigilon I/O connection runs at 19200 baud. The gateway in each arrangement provides the panel’s onward connection to the CLSS cloud.
