The Advanced CWST-RW-W5 is a conventional, non-addressable weatherproof beacon (visual alarm device) using high-output white LEDs, advanced optics and an innovative lens design to deliver outstanding omni-directional light coverage at low current draw. Designed for and approved to EN54-23, it has a red PC-ABS body with a clear PC lens. The compact unit measures 100mm diameter by 97mm high and weighs 171g.
Technical overview
CWST-RW-W5 is a Conventional Audio Visual Device in the VAD sub-range. It features a red case, clear lens and white LED flash with IP65 protection. The unit uses a PC lens and PC-ABS body construction, weighs 171 g and measures 100 mm diameter by 97 mm height.
It operates from 12 to 29 V dc with an average current consumption of 26 mA at 29 V dc and provides omni-directional white light coverage at a flash rate of 0.5 Hz. Designed for fire and security applications, it includes automatic synchronisation on power-up, exceeds EN54-23 standard requirements and incorporates a soft start feature to reduce power surges during system initiation. Approved to EN54-23 for C and W categories, the device functions reliably across -25 °C to 70 °C and up to 93% ±3% non-condensing relative humidity.
Suitable for wall and ceiling mounting, it supports deep base or IP65 base installation with cable terminals accommodating 0.5-2.5 mm2 conductors. Compatible accessories include red and white deep/IP65 bases, sealing gaskets, O rings and earth straps, all available in packs of five.
