What it is and how it fits the system.
This red-body sounder strobe combines a 107dB(A) at 1m sounder with a red flash and clear lens, approved to both EN54-3 and EN54-23 for W and C class coverage. It offers 32 tones including a bell tone with high or medium volume settings and is supplied with a low-profile base. Operating on 12 to 29VDC across -25C to 70C, it draws an average 49mA at 29VDC in W class.
Technical overview
CWSS-RR-S5 is a conventional sounder strobe — red body, red flash, clear lens — from the Conventional Audio Visual Devices range, holding EN54-Pt.3 and Pt.23 W and C class approval. Visual coverage is rated to EN54-23 code W-2.4-6.2: fixed at up to 2.4 m, the flash covers a 6.2 m cube, 86 m³ in volume. Synchronisation engages automatically the moment power arrives, to a level that meets EN54-3 and exceeds the EN54-23 standard.
On the audible side the device offers a choice of 32 tones, a bell tone among them, switchable between high and medium volume from a 12 to 29VDC supply.
Base selection governs sealing. The CSR red low-profile base and the CWR red deep base are the two listed mounts; the deep base takes the assembly to IP65, the PS189 deep-base gasket seals between base and mounting surface, and the PS188 O-ring can be added to a conventional AV base to reach the same IP65 rating. The SC076 earth strap, SCO77 terminal block and SCO78 installer link complete the listed accessories, with terminal wiring set out in the installation data sheet.
