Overview
What it is and how it fits the system.
The BEAMHK is a heating kit for the transmitter/receiver unit of reflected beam smoke detectors, reducing the likelihood of condensation that can cause trouble or false alarm conditions. Operating from 15 to 32 V with a nominal 1.6 W draw at 24 V (up to 3 W at 32 V), it supplies one transmitter/receiver heater assembly and is intended solely for condensation prevention. Backed by a three-year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.
Technical overview
BEAMHK is a heater kit designed for reflective beam detectors within the Beam Detection OSID Range. It prevents condensation on optical surfaces to maintain reliable operation in varying environmental conditions. The assembly includes a transmitter/receiver heater unit that integrates directly with compatible beam smoke detector hardware.
Operating on a 15 to 32 V supply, the heater draws up to 92 mA at maximum voltage, with nominal power consumption of 1.6 W at 24 V and a peak of 3 W at 32 V. It is intended solely for condensation prevention and does not alter the detector’s specified operating temperature range.
The heater assembly connects via a PCB that plugs into the optical assembly and the HEATER pin-header on the transmitter/receiver unit. Power is supplied through terminal blocks T1-1 and T1-2 for conventional units, or T3-1 and T3-2 for intelligent models, where it may also power automatic test features. Refer to the installation manual for physical wiring and mounting details.
