Overview
What it is and how it fits the system.
The Gent 795-058-005 is a plug-in Hochiki loop driver card for the ZXa and ZXe intelligent multi-protocol fire alarm control panels, powering and communicating with addressable devices on a single class-A or class-B loop using non-shielded twisted wire. It supports Hochiki ASX (ESP) series analogue addressable modules, with up to 126 devices per loop controller each assigned a unique address from 001 to 126. Short-circuit isolation and double address detection are built in, and the card measures 90 x 54 x 25mm (HxWxD); it is also identified by alternate part number 794-058.
Technical overview
795-058-005 fits Morley's ZXa and ZXe intelligent multi-protocol fire alarm control panels with a plug-in loop driver card for addressable devices from Hochiki's ASX (ESP) series, powering and communicating with input and output points such as heat sensors and photoelectric smoke sensors. The card also carries the alternate part number 794-058, and the 460mA Hochiki ESP loop driver 795-058-105 shares its loop driver position and jumper setting.
Panel fitment scales with the model: expansion slots on the base card accept one loop driver in a ZX1Se, up to two in a ZX2Se and up to five in a ZX5Se, with the ZX10Se supported as well. A panel takes loop drivers of a single manufacturer type only — installing different types together is expressly ruled out — and the Hochiki card is set with jumper link J1 in position A on the ZX1Se and ZX2Se, or with J1 fitted on the ZX5Se.
Commissioning leans on the AUTO-LEARN facility in the ZXa and ZXe panels, cutting the time and effort of bringing a new loop up, while a calibration and contamination check runs on a 24-hour cycle. Two LEDs on the card flag the loop end currently being driven, each Hochiki device takes a unique address from a DIL switch or a programming tool, and loop current at the host runs to 500mA over a two-loop ZXa and 1250mA over the ZXe's five loops. The card is UL listed.
