What it is and how it fits the system.
The Morley-IAS DXc2 is a two-loop, networkable, multi-protocol analogue addressable fire alarm control panel from the DX Connexion range. It runs from 230 V AC (±15 %) with a 24 V DC 4 A PSU, a 500 mA multi-protocol loop driver and a +24 V DC 250 mA fused auxiliary output. Two monitored sounder circuits at 1 A each, plus single-pole-changeover fire and fault relays, support flexible system integration with provision for 2 x 17 Ah standby batteries.
Technical overview
714-001-221 is the two-loop DXc2 fire alarm control panel from Morley's DX Connexion range of networkable analogue addressable panels. Each of the two loops draws on a 500 mA multi-protocol loop driver, and the panel takes Apollo Xplorer, XP95 and Discovery devices, Hochiki ESP devices or System Sensor protocol devices, with a single protocol selected within the control panel.
Day-to-day control runs through a six-line, 40-character backlit blue liquid crystal display and a twelve-button alphanumeric keypad, with dedicated control keys running from evacuate through to system reset and show alarm zones. Two independent programmable function keys carry their own LED indicators, up to 80 fire zones can be used with or without zone LEDs, and a battery-backed real-time clock is fitted.
Where a single panel cannot cover the site, DXc panels network peer-to-peer with fault tolerance up to a 16-loop maximum — eight two-loop panels, or any mix of loop sizes — on a BS5839 part 1 compliant network, and an onboard RS485 port handles the repeater connection. Standby provision is based on 2 x 17Ah batteries.
