Description

This amplifier is intended for VARIODYN ONE and integrates directly with GNP Controller, VARIODYN®Dl DOM, which also handles system control and monitoring. Four 100V outputs are brought out at the rear of the unit for that module, and the control inputs use a connector marked CONTROL I/F.

Because all amplifier channels are completely independent from each other, one of them can be programmed as a backup channel, either for the other 3 channels or for amplifier channels of other amplifiers with the same or lower output power. An inbuilt Power Save mode and an intuitive display interface for device status round out the operating arrangements.

The 4XD250B, part number 585031, is a 2U 19inch rack mountable direct drive voice alarm amplifier holding four independent Class D channels rated 4 x 250 W, and it takes up 2 HU of rack height. Every channel carries its own independent 100V audio output, rated into a load of 40 Ω.

Rated voltage is 230 V AC, +10 %/-5 %, drawing 2.2 A at 230 V AC and 18.6 A at 24 V DC, rising to 53.5 A for a 1 kHz sinus burst of 1 min. An F10AH250V fuse protects the mains inlet, emergency power supply runs 21,5 V DC … 28,5 V DC, and the inbuilt charger serves a valve regulated lead-acid battery of 65AH min-105AH max at up to 6.5A. Where the standby supply is external, the temperature sensor must not be connected at the connector marked BATT TEMP, and the internal charger must be configured as disabled.

Measured performance includes a signal to noise ratio of ≥ 90 dB (A), channel separation of ≥ 75 dB, a distortion factor at 1 kHz of ≤ 0,3 %, an input level of 0 dBu and a system input impedance of 20 kOhm.
