Honeywell DCS Plus - digital call station for routine and emergency paging with redundancy option

An RJ12 socket takes up to six DKM plus digital keyboard modules (583526) in a daisy chain, for a total of up to 120 keys and LEDs per communication station, and both units can be fitted into the surface of a desk. An optional fibre optic connection, made at the receiving end through the 583317.21 fibre optic converter, reaches distances up to 2,000 metres.

The 583520 is the DCS plus, a fully digital call station for routine and emergency paging that connects over standard CAT5 cable to the VARIODYN ONE INC-D control device. From it an operator selects loudspeaker circuits and transmits voice announcements, gongs and alarms.

The station carries 12 freely configurable keys with independent programmable LEDs plus 2 LEDs, and an electret gooseneck microphone with a cardioid, uni-directional pattern on a flexible gooseneck. That microphone is exchangeable and is protected by a specific tool used to lock and unlock it, while a built-in 2 W loudspeaker supports monitoring and intercom operation between other paging stations.

Both the voice coil and the microphone capsule are acoustically monitored on a permanent basis, along with the microphone and cable connection, and there is mechanical protection against cable disconnection. Current consumption stays < 70 mA, ambient temperature is -5 °C - +45 °C, and the station is BS EN54-16 approved.
