Description
583381.31 is the System Communication Unit of the VARIODYN D1 System, a component for rack mounting.
A prefabricated yellow CAT5 patch cable joins the ETHERNET port of the DOM to this unit, which is itself connected to the primary power supply or emergency power supply, or to the main switch unit (MSU) where one is present. Direct connection with a PC calls for a cross-over network cable (patch cable).

The metal housing weighs approx. 3 kg, the ambient temperature range is -5 °C … +45 °C and air humidity 15 % … 90 % rel. hum. (non-condensing), and the unit is specified to EN 54-16. A 3 V lithium battery (type CR2032 or equivalent) is integrated into the SCU to protect the customer data, and it should be replaced after no more than five years, such as during regular maintenance.
