The Morley-IAS ZX5Se is an analogue addressable fire alarm control panel from the ZXSe Range, supporting 1 to 5 loops at up to 460mA per loop and up to 200 zones. It features LED zonal indicators (20, expandable up to 200), an internal sounder, an alphanumeric multi-level programming keypad and four programmable sounder outputs with open and short circuit monitoring at 1A maximum. EN54-format auxiliary relays, comprehensive panel status indicators and three serial ports with optional RS485 or RS232 modules make it a flexible addressable control platform.
Technical overview
020-891 identifies the ZX5Se, an analogue addressable fire alarm control panel in the Morley-IAS ZXSE Range that spans one to five detection loops. A wide set of compatible options surrounds the panel: the ZX5Se Glass Door Kit, ZX5Se Bezel Kit and ZX5SE Battery Box adapt the enclosure and its mounting, while the Morley-IAS Loop Driver Card 460mA supports loop provision.
Input and output expansion is handled by PCB-only modules: the 8 Way Programmable Input Module, 4 Way Programmable Relay Module and 4 Way Programmable Sounder Module. A 40 Way Programmable Mimic Interface Module follows the same pattern. Communications run through plug-in RS485 and RS232 cards on the panel's serial side. The Hi-485 Communication Module is a further PCB-only option, and the MODBUS Interface Unit (795-057) requires an RS485 card fitted in the control panel. A USB Isolated Upload/Download Lead completes the programming toolkit.
Printing runs locally on the Internal Printer or remotely through the External Remote Printer Module, and zonal indication extends with the 20 Zone and 60 Zone LED Display Indicator Cards. Remote indication reaches further through the ZXr repeaters: the ZXr-P Passive Repeater presents an LCD and system status indicators. The ZXr-A Active Repeater adds user controls for Silence, Reset, Mute and Evacuate, each activated by a key switch, and a bezel kit is listed for the ZXr series. Terminal-by-terminal wiring is set out in the installation manual.
